School Workshops FAQs
What age are the workshops suitable for?
Our initial programme is designed primarily for Year 5 and Year 6. We can discuss the most appropriate format depending on your pupils' age, maturity and existing curriculum.
Can boys take part?
Yes. Workshops can be delivered to mixed groups or boys-only sessions, where this is appropriate for the school. Learning about menstruation can help create understanding, respect and empathy across the school community.
Do you provide period products?
The focus of the workshop is education. We can discuss period-product provision separately with interested schools.
Do pupils receive period products?
This depends on the programme and arrangements agreed with the school. The workshop itself does not require pupils to purchase products.
Is the workshop a sales presentation for SANAVAY?
No. Our workshops are educational. While SANAVAY specialises in sustainable period care, we introduce pupils to different types of menstrual products rather than promoting one particular product.
Can the workshop be adapted for pupils with SEND?
We are happy to discuss reasonable adaptations with the school before the session so that the content and delivery are appropriate for participating pupils.
Can parents and carers see what will be taught?
Yes. Schools can request information about the workshop content and learning objectives, and we can provide suitable parent/carer information where required.
How many pupils can attend?
This depends on the format, venue and school requirements. Please contact us to discuss your group size.
Can you deliver more than one session in a day?
Yes. We can discuss multiple sessions for different classes or year groups.
Do you provide teacher resources?
Yes. Depending on the programme selected, schools can receive supporting information and resources to help reinforce learning.
How far do you travel?
Please contact us with your school location and requirements, and we will confirm availability.
How much does a workshop cost?
Workshop pricing depends on the session length, number of groups and requirements of the school. Please contact us for a quotation.
Do you work with state and independent schools?
Yes, we work with ALL schools. Please contact us to discuss your school's requirements.
Do you only work with primary schools?
Our initial programme focuses on primary schools, particularly Years 5 and 6. A secondary school programme is currently being developed.
Can you work with academies?
Yes. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.
Can you deliver workshops to an entire year group?
Yes. We can discuss the most appropriate format depending on pupil numbers, venue and timetable.
Can we request your policies before booking?
Yes. Schools can request relevant safeguarding, insurance, risk assessment and other documentation before confirming a booking.
Do you sell products directly to pupils?
No. The school workshop is an educational service and is not designed as a sales presentation.
Can the school purchase SANAVAY products separately?
If a school is interested in period-product provision, educational resources or sustainable period care, please contact us to discuss this separately from the workshop.
Can you provide a parent information letter?
Yes. We can provide suitable information for schools to adapt and share with parents and carers.
Can pupils ask questions anonymously?
Yes. Anonymous questions are incorporated into the workshop.
What if a pupil asks a question that is outside the workshop?
We will answer age-appropriately where appropriate, or explain that the question is better discussed with a parent, carer, teacher, school nurse or other appropriate professional.
